Section 3 - The Mixer

The Mixer is up from the Observatory Room. "A small room, no window, just a thin slot for[first time] what you suppose is[only] air conditioning."

The central console is fixed in place in the Mixer. "The north wall harbors a bulky keyboard, lit up by several buttons." The description is "The mixer is powered. On it, among the many cryptic buttons, three have symbols that you can comprehend. On the first is a star, on the second [if the lines button is parallel_shaped]a couple of parallel lines[else if the lines button is minus_shaped]a minus symbol[else if the lines button is plus_shaped]a plus symbol[end if], on the last a circle." Understand "bulky/keyboard/mixer/buttons" as the central console.

Instead of pushing or touching the central console, say "You must address each button separately."

The star button is part of the central console. The description is "On the button is a shape resembling a star[if the anti-radiation bulkhead is in the Observatory Room]. It is lit[end if]." Understand "1/first/1st" as the star button.

The lines button is part of the central console. Understand "equal/2/second/2nd/parallel/plus/minus/dash/line/symbol" as the lines button. The description is "On the button is a shape resembling [if parallel_shaped]two parallel lines[else if minus_shaped]a minus symbol[else if plus_shaped]a plus symbol[end if]."

The circle button is part of the central console. The description is "On the button is a shape resembling a circle[if the anti-flare bulkhead is in the Observatory Room]. It is lit[end if]." Understand "3/third/3rd" as the circle button.

Before switching on or switching off the central console, say "You can't see how." instead.

Instead of pushing the lines button:

if the lines button is parallel_shaped:

say "The shape on the button changes. It now looks like a minus symbol.";

now the lines button is minus_shaped;

stop the action;

else if the lines button is minus_shaped:

say "The shape on the button changes. It now looks like a plus symbol.";

now the lines button is plus_shaped;

stop the action;

else:

say "The shape on the button changes. It now looks like a couple of parallel lines.";

now the lines button is parallel_shaped;

stop the action.

The slot for air conditioning is scenery in the Mixer. The description is "It's just a thin slot. A millimeter or so."

Instead of inserting something into the slot for air conditioning, say "Nothing would fit. Almost nothing."

Instead of inserting the useless railway ticket into the slot for air conditioning:

say "The ticket fits... and it's sucked inside!";

now the useless railway ticket is in the Crossroads.
