Section 13 - The Hangars

Hangar_N is north of MouthWhale. The printed name is "Hangar, north". "[First time]After a -- long -- walk, you reach this corner of the docks area.[paragraph break][only]The place is a mess[if the Hangar_S is visited], but not as much as the south side[end if]. Crates and equipment pieces are scattered all around the floor, remains of a devastating incident. The hangar continues south, southwest and west." It is in the Bay Area.

A pod is an enterable container in the Hangar_N. It is fixed in place. It is open. "[if the location is Hangar_N]A sort of egg-like pod shines, through the debris, under a transparent tube coming off of the ceiling[else]A pod is ready, here, waiting for passengers[end if]." The description is "A glass and metal egg-shaped pod, containing just a seat." Understand "egg/egg-like/egg-shaped/glass/metal/seat/transporter/nav/nav-pod" as the pod.

Instead of taking or pushing or pulling or turning the pod, say "It's too heavy."

Instead of opening or closing the pod, say "There is no door on it."

The transparent tube is part of the pod. The description is "The tube enters the ceiling and disappears into a dark hole." Understand "dark/hole" as the transparent tube.

Instead of taking or pushing or pulling or turning the transparent tube, say "It's out of reach, above the pod."

Before entering the pod:

now the pod is charged.

Before exiting when in the pod:

now the pod is depleted.

Every turn when the player is in the pod for 2 turns:

now the pod is depleted.

Every turn when the pod is charged:

say "LOGAN://'[First time]This is a nav-pod. You can use it to travel to different sections of the ship. The one still available, at least: the power leakage has made many hubs no more accessible.[paragraph break][only][one of]Do you want me to push you somewhere? Try: LOGAN, 29port.'[or]Want me to speed you somewhere, Ektor Mastiff?'[or]Destination?'[or]The syntax for requesting a jump is: LOGAN, <area><level><section>. So, for bay 2, level 9, port section, just say: LOGAN, 29port'[or]Are you ready to go?'[or]Where to, Ektor Mastiff?'[cycling]".

[-----------------------------]

Hangar_S is south of MouthWhale. The printed name is "Hangar, south". "[First time]After a -- long -- walk, you reach this corner of the docks area.[paragraph break][only]The place is [if the Hangar_N is visited]even more of [end if]a mess[if the Hangar_N is visited] than the north side of the harbor[end if]. Crates and equipment pieces are scattered all around the floor, remains of a devastating incident. The hangar continues north, northwest and west." It is in the Bay Area.

A hatch is a door. It is south of Hangar_S. It is not apparent. "[if the hatch is closed]A tall hatch hides behind crates on the wall of the hangar[else]The tall hatch stands now open[end if]." The description is "[if the hatch is closed]The hatch is closed and broken. Some of the larger crates have collapsed on it, twisting the metal doors and making them inoperable[else]The crates have been scattered around by the vacuum explosion and the hatch has somehow lifted to the open position[end if]." Understand "metal/door/doors" as the hatch.

Instead of doing something other than examining to the hatch, say "The hatch is broken beyond repair."

After printing the locale description of the Hangar_S when the Hangar_S is travelled:

say "LOGAN://'There you go, Ektor Mastiff. I dropped the ELSS[']s pneumatic environment system to a halt, then powered it back full force. The result was like using a sucker on a clogged tube, if you get what I mean. I wasn't sure it worked.'";

now the Hangar_S is untravelled.
